To Parents

The purpose of ASL soccer is to provide an opportunity for all children to learn and play and parents or guardians to watch soccer in a fun, healthy, competitive and instructional environment.

AS PARENTS, YOU ARE EXPECTED TO:
  1. Provide transportation to and from ALL practices and games, ensuring that your child is prompt in arrival as well as departure times.
  2. Lend players your support in a positive manner, attend and watch as many practices and games as possible. Avoid negative comments to players, coaches, referees and other parents, focus on their accomplishments in a positive manner.
  3. Sportsmanship is an ABSOLUTE. Be graceful in a winning situation and avoid being negative in a losing situation. Please do not criticize players, coaches or referees, as they are doing what they feel is best for the children's growth in soccer. If you have a problem, please discuss it with the coach privately. If the problem persists please contact either the ASL boys or girls coaching coordinator respectively or the ASL President.
  4. Encourage the children to be good listeners, coaches work hard to provide an environment in which all children regardless of skill level may participate equally.
  5. Make sure that the children come to both practices and games prepared. SHIN GUARDS AND SOCCER CLEATS ARE MANDATORY for safety reasons. The ASL uniform for games is the PURPLE/WHITE reversible jersey and Purple or Black shorts without pockets. Children are required to bring their own soccer ball to practice. (Check with your coach for the appropriate size.)
  6. Please avoid materialistic rewards and focusing on a winning is everything attitude. Encourage all players to have fun and play to the best of their abilities, because this is the primary goal of our organization.
